2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Review

honest product reviews

Chevy's trailblazer 2021 is Chevy’s latest entry into a legion tiny crossovers, SUVs and mini-crossovers that bridge the gap from subcompact to compact models. It joins rivals such as the Kia Selto, Honda HR-V, Jeep Renegade, Mazda CX-3, and Toyota CH-R, in this growing category for small SUVs and mini-crossovers.

The new Trailblazer mini-SUV is a capable little vehicle that is very well suited to combining style, safety, and technology into a package that is uniquely Chevy. The Trailblazer is a mini SUV that's suited to both young adults and empty nesters, but also can be used by the whole family.

The car is small and lightweight, but its performance is decent, in part because of the turbocharged 3-cylinder engine. Trailblazer has a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel option, along with a nine-speed auto transmission.

You can choose between two trim levels, L and L. The L has a $19,000 starting price and comes with a 137-horsepower 1.2-liter turbocharged engine. The car is equipped with a continuously adjustable automatic transmission.

If you want something more powerful, the LS comes with a 1.3 liter engine turbocharged that puts out 177 hp. That's not as much power as the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, but the 1.3 has much better acceleration.

The base LS is equipped with features like remote keyless access, Bluetooth, an information system, cruise controls, and tinted window. For extra money, you can add features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warning, and lane change alert.

Optional features include a high definition rearview camera, adaptive cruise control and a high-definition backview camera. You can upgrade the Technology package to include Apple CarPlay connectivity and Android Auto along with satellite audio.

The Trailblazer ACTIV interior is quite well designed. There are good cloth seats and the instrument panel is easy to read and has a configurable driver information center. The center console offers a large amount of storage. To gain more space, you can fold down the rear seats.

It's a pleasant driving experience in the Trailblazer, but it does suffer from a harsh ride over potholes and road imperfections. This is something that some of its more costly rivals do not have, and it's one that could turn off many buyers when looking for a compact SUV.

The Trailblazer connects you with the world, thanks to an impressive Chevrolet Infotainment 3 display and a 6-speaker audio option that allows you to stream podcasts or listen to your favorite music.
